Contributing to a Better Environment

Geothermal heating & cooling systems draw upon the natural heat produced by the Earth to heat and cool your home or business.

Very little electricity is used by the heat pump itself. No fossilized fuels are used. Therefore, there are no emissions, which are know to contribute to The Greenhouse Effect and global warming.

Geothermal vs RRSP

What should you do? Install a less expensive conventional heating system and invest the rest in an RRSP?

Or, should you install a geothermal system?

This spreadsheet shows you the suprising difference.

APH Geothermal is based out of Pilot Mound, Manitoba and is owned by Glen & Margie Anderson. This year marks their 34th in the plumbing and heating industry.

Twenty-six years ago, in 1981, Glen first installed air to air heat pumps. Fourteen years ago he expanded into geothermal systems by installing his first heat pump in 1993.

The business has installed Geothermal systems in skating and curling rinks, churches, residential homes and various businesses. It not only serves the Pilot Mound area, but also a large majority of southern Manitoba. You can be confident in APH Geothermal's expertise.

Their son Geoff works for APH Geothermal as well, and currently there are two other experienced employees who work on installations.

The APH Geothermal staff are motivated to install quality, dependable systems best suited to your needs and budget.

Regardless of where you live, an on-site visit of 45 - 90 minutes occurs to evaluate the home or business before a system is installed. If you are replacing an existing system, your ductwork and building layout will need to be examined. In the case of new construction, your blueprints will need to be seen to best incorporate your new geothermal system.

During this visit a building heat loss calculation is performed, which decides what size of heat pump your home or business would require. A building energy analysis is also done.

You can expect to have the differences between heat pumps explained to you, as well as loop installation details.

In the end, you'll have an approximate cost to install the system, and your questions and concerns will have been addressed.

APH Geothermal can do entire installations or will use your choice of local tradespeople to do work not specific to the geothermal system itself. (ductwork, electrical changes, trenching, plumbing connections) However, the ductwork design must be approved by APH Geothermal to ensure efficient system operation.

In addition to installing new systems, APH Geothermal can also make repairs to all makes of heat pumps.
